It’s been a couple weeks of wildly divergent challenging surprises softened by God’s sense of humor. Don’t you love how He steps in when we’re on the edge of freaking out?
You know I am blessed beyond belief when y’all tell me the words written here seem to arrive just when you need to hear them. I love how God weaves things that way. But when my Lessons in Forgiveness post, written weeks ago, arrived like a message in a bottle sent to myself exactly when I needed to hear it most, I really had to smile at God.
The night before those words arrived, a door that had been frustratingly stuck for too long, suddenly pulled shut from the inside. That closure was a Gift. It just took re-reading my own post the next morning to remember to see it that way : )
So if you find yourself in a stuck place being nudged toward a new door, perhaps it’s God offering you an opportunity. To enter a new, better, more life-giving place. A place of new momentum!
I hope you’ll grab a mug of yummy warmness and drop by my new home for my website where I share moments of captured beauty, stories of hope, and bits of encouragement intended to inspire. A place where butterflies remind us of what God can do with unlovely, low-crawling things.
Here’s raising a steaming cup of gratitude to our sweet Lord for this beautiful new door, my bionic earth angel friend Gretchen Louise for rebuilding my little corner of the world, and to YOU for joining me along the way! Together let’s press forward, along the Journey to Joy!
…To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: “I will go before you and make the rough places smooth… ~ Isaiah 45:1-2
Amen!
QUESTION: In those places where you’re frustrated and stuck, is there a nudge toward beauty where God’s sense of humor may simply be pointing you toward a new door?
I definitely needed this reminder today– to be looking for the new opportunity. God is working, even when things look pretty dark around us.
Yes, Natasha. He never seems to work on our timetable : ) But I usually discover after the fact that He had good reason. We build our faith and trust muscles during the waiting time. Hang on! Good things are coming!
