Two friends have asked me to pray for them during their waiting time. They are frustrated. Scared. Restless. This is ground I know well.
Waiting is required in order to be Blessed. It’s a time of choosing whether to go our own way or wait for God’s direction.
His answers will come but never in our time. That’s the lesson. Trusting Him in His timing, enough to wait for it.
Corrie Ten Boom once said that God is like a good father who holds the ticket for his child until it’s time to board the train. God doesn’t tell us what to do until it’s time to do it. Until then, His answer is “Wait.”
So ask and wait. No answer IS an answer.
And still we wait. Remembering to trusting that we do have a Good Father who truly knows best.
Amen.

yes…the power of waiting. Perhaps it is the ultimate test of faith.
I’m pretty sure you hit the nail on the head Bridget. But as Easter proves, waiting is ultimately a gift.
I love that illustration from Corrie Ten Boom. Great post on waiting.
It was nice to meet you at the conference.
Thanks DJ. Great meeting you also. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us and bringing us all together as well!
I am thinking of all of the men of the Bible who had to wait to see God’s promises fulfilled- and those who could only see it by faith, as the promises were fulfilled many generations in the future.
Abraham
Noah
Joshua
Normally, the wait God asks of us is far shorter.
(I may need to blog about this myself!)
