Sometimes mid-winter, a restlessness sets in beneath the gloomy clouds and we just need a little sunshine for the soul.
Today was a crazy weather sort of day. With wind, and hail, and snow, and strange colors of light filtering through ominous puffed up bruise-colored clouds. It seems the weather’s restless too.
It helps to think of the garden. When tiny little seeds push up to towering heights, then bow down under the weight of their own glory. Smiling beams of joy that ride atop the wind.
You can sense it. Hope is rising just near.
The sun will soon come to stay. For whole days at a time. We will be warm again.
I love the changing seasons. They remind us to savor the fact that nothing stays the same. Help us to enjoy the moment that we’re in. Important things. Trust, dark days don’t last forever.
Bright or grey or this swirling in-between… Gratitude is the only appropriate response for the gift of experiencing it all. Without wide swings of contrast, this life would be a less beautiful thing.
Amen.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. ~ Isaiah 43:19
Is as the light of the morning when the sun rises, A morning without clouds, When the tender grass springs out of the earth, Through sunshine after rain. ~ 2 Samuel 23:4
