I awoke this week with the song by Avalon I DON’T WANT TO GO playing in my head: “I don’t want to go somewhere, if I know that you’re not there, Lord my heart, wants to be where you are.”
Then I saw the funniest sight that made me laugh, pull off the road, cock my head and say “Yuh-huh???”, and it came to me… We are much like the funny bird that likes hanging out with the longhorn. Staring at ground level at our fears, we forget who stands between us and them. We forget but He does not. How Great. How Strong.
What if just for today, instead of focusing on the fear, we choose to look up and get excited about the One who walks beside us?
