Everywhere I turn this week I am being stalked by a dove. It started in my office. I heard him first. Cooing, I’m with you, I’m with you. Then I saw him. Alone. A bit out of season. Perched in the tree outside my door. Watching.
When I moved to the front of the house, there he was again, teetering on the wire.
Next day, we got an important call. Dealing with life and death things. Suddenly I noticed his reflection framed perfectly on my computer screen. Beaming in from outside to us clear across the room. For the entire length of the call. I’m with you.
And yesterday, there he was again, exactly at the moment when I need to be reminded that I never work alone. I’m with you, I’m with you, I’m with you.
So the next time you start to notice a recurring theme, wake up with eyes to see and ears to hear. God might just be trying to tell you something. Just what you need to hear.
For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. ~ Job 33:14
Amen.
QUESTION: How might God be speaking to you today? Are you too being stalked by a dove?

When I was taking care of my Mother-in-law,I would go out to the back patio and mediate daily. At first one white dove showed up, then another joined her.Every time I went out to mediate, the would fly to the wire and stay as long as I was out there.I knew it was God but I didn’t understand the message.I looked up the meaning spiritually for doves and not only are they for comfort, they will guide you on a new path.I saw them the next year at her gravesite.I was the blessed one to be in her life at such a wonderful time.

Thanks LaNell for sharing your story. That was a lovely and welcome confirmation to me as well about guidance for a “new path”, which actually inspired a new post for today. I know what you mean about the blessing of being with and caring for people as they are dying… one of the hardest and most blessed experiences. The few times I have been privileged to be with someone as they were dying, I always felt like the veil between Heaven and earth was a little thinner there. Thanks so much for taking the time to be an encouragement to me today!
