Sometimes God conspires to slow us down so that we might open wide our eyes, hearts, minds and wills, to fully receive the Blessings Given.
When all we can do is rush and hurry to and fro we so often miss the gift that’s been placed within our hands. In our rush, we overlook the obvious.
A long and climbing season of affliction at last reduces us to a pace where we might finally recognize the One who walks beside us and the beauty of the Joys He’s laid here at our feet, in our homes and lives.
The Joy of Christmas, the Christmas Miracle this season may just be to wake up and fully receive that which has already been given. That which has not yet fully accepted with heart and arms flung wide in praise to the Sender and the gift itself.
This season I completely accept the gifts of children, great love, and family, given very late in life.
What gifts have you yet to fully receive? Together, let’s take them completely in to our souls and sing songs of genuine praise.
Amen.
