I’ve decided to take a lesson from little friend hummingbird – consuming life, living arms wide open. Doesn’t that sound fun?
Have you ever noticed how a hummingbird brings delight to the heart whenever they appear? These tiny teachers show us how to live and move with arms wide open.
When life hurts too much too long it’s easy to develop a habit of covering our hearts. Wings held in tight, we become like a brown paper box folded in upon itself, all the while having beautiful iridescent wings painted on the walls inside.
Today, let’s dive into the idea that life was meant to be…
GOOD.
Joyful.
Playful.
Abundant.
To be consumed fully – with arms wide open.
So let’s seek out more of the sweet things: color, beauty, play, love, fun, joy, and kind, happy people to enjoy them with.
Let’s trust that God is bigger than all that’s ever hurt us, and we are more than we even yet believe.
We were created to enjoy this life. Every single moment of beauty it provides.
Together let’s move forward: arms wide open, wings spread, embracing this day and the joys it contains. Letting life move through us. Trying new things. Discovering what brings us joy. Savoring what is good.
Letting go in order to soar.
Living.
Arms.
Wide.
Open.
I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. ~ John 10:10
Amen.
QUESTION: Do you ever wonder who you would be if you could just let go of everything behind you and simply enjoy your life TODAY? Want to join me in the adventure of learning to enjoy the sweetness of living arms wide open? I hope you’ll drop me a note in the Comments and let me know what that looks like for you.
Joanna, I love the connection that you help to establish here between the tiny and vulnerable hummingbirds and our own lives. Putting our faith into place and stepping up with courage is all about what God wants to give to us. That is a life of abundance, praise His Name. Thank you for your thoughts and encouragement as inspired by the grace and love that has been established in your heart and life.
I love that visual Terri, of “stepping up” with arms wide open to receive what God wants to give us. YOU inspire me. Life is so incredibly abundant, isn’t it? Lord give us eyes to see that more and more, and hearts and arms wide open to receive You and all you desire for us. Amen! : )
