There are days when we need some hope. Times when we don’t know the why of events, don’t know the where of our path, don’t know the how of our future. Today is one of those days. Tired, dreams lose focus. What once seemed bright and possible begins to fade into doubt.
Looking backward we can see that clarity always came just in time. We learn another season always comes to pass. But before it arrives we fret. Worry. Question. Wonder if we’ll be the only one who never has the answer. Fear.
And there is the clue. FEAR. God did not give us the spirit of fear.
So we must learn to trust. Trust that when we’re meant to know, we will.
He’ll find a way to get through to us with our marching orders. He’ll give us the time to heal our wounds. Mend our fences. Try new things. Learn from past mistakes.
Winter can leave us listless, longing to hide. Take naps. The hope of springs past cheers us to remember that new beginnings are not only possible, they always come in time.
So we wait. And rest. And trust. We hope. Let’s learn to do it without the fear.
Amen.
