The past few months have been a roller-coaster of events, activity, and travel, mingled with bouts of a bug that left me upside down, just hanging on for dear life.
Ever felt that way? Like someone hit the fast forward button on your life and the best you can do is hold on?
At my nephewโs baseball game, his girlfriend โ a nurse with a stethoscope in her car โ listened to my lungs. She muttered some scary words. Insisted I go to the doctor soon.
Turns out Iโm not dying. At least not any faster than any other reasonably healthy 50 year old woman I know. But I am now taking a bunch of things 4 times a day to help me get over the allergies I never knew I had and the infection that resulted from waiting for it to pass.
There you have it. Every single thing we take into our bodies, by eat or drink or breath, brings life or death into our flesh. I confess. I have not been choosing wisely. I like too many things that donโt apparently like me.
My choices have left me beneath my bounty of blessings, rather than happily on top of them. Yet another wake-up call to put my health on the top of the priority list.
How about you? This is a season of abundant opportunity. Many ripe seeds just waiting for the harvest. We must choose well. Choose life. That we may have the vitality to live our gifts well.
Jesus heard about it and spoke up, โWho needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? Iโm here inviting outsiders, not insidersโan invitation to a changed life, changed inside and out.โ ~ Luke 5:31 MSG
Amen.
QUESTION: How can you begin making different choices, making your health a priority today, so that you can stop feeling like youโre just hanging on for dear life? Please share in the Comments.
Would you believe, I was going to go get Mcdonald’s for dinner because no one but me is home, and I don’t feel like cooking?? And YOU JUST STOPPED ME…..
Thanks. Now……. what shall I do for dinner? ๐
Divine intervention : ) I know what you mean. On our recent trip we sometimes were in such a hurry we ate McD’s a couple times a day and I have to say I’m still paying the price. Veggies with fresh basil and chicken, stir fried in avocado oil, simmered in coconut milk with some Thai curry paste added for flavor. How’s that for a suggestion? And guess what we’re having for dinner? : )
