What does it mean to enjoy the journey? Is it giving thanks that there are clean clothes to fold? Medicine to take for your cold? A home to dust? A family to feed? A job to do? When others may have none?
Let’s shift our perspective. This is our life. Today is what we’re given. It was meant to be enjoyed. Not just the magical moments on rare perfect days.
There is always something beautiful right in front of us – if we are willing to see in new ways.
We are meant to enjoy the journey NOW. Not just after we’re well, the house is cleaned, the laundry folded, the bills paid, and the work is done.
Let’s look for simple daily things to be thankful for along the way. Because no matter where we are, God has a good plan for our lives, and wants us to enjoy the journey today.
Amen.
It is better to be content with what the eyes can see than for one’s heart always to crave more. This continual longing is futile – like chasing the wind. ~ Ecclesiastes 6:9
