The wonderful book The Circle Maker, instructs us to dream big dreams – pray big prayers. On page 22, there is a beautiful question:
“What if Jesus were to ask you… ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ Would you be able to spell out the promises, miracles, and dreams God has put in your heart?”
Consider this…
What if your big dream – the one you’ve had forever that never really goes away, the one that would bring something good and beautiful into the world, serve other people, and bring God glory, yes, the one you resist, excuse, procrastinate, and deny away daily – what if that IS the dream that God put in your heart? What if?
Would you see it differently? Would you cooperate? Today?
What big dream has God placed in your heart? Will you take that step of faith?
Let’s decide to dream big and pray big prayers today.
Amen.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ~ Ephesians 2:10 NIV

Oh, I just pulled that book off the shelf to re-read it…
It IS a daunting thought that I’ve been procrastinating over the desire God has put into my heart. I find I can dream lots – it’s in the “doing” I trip and get distracted. (sigh)

Thanks Lori. I always write what I need to hear. You are NOT alone. If you haven’t already read it, there’s another amazing book that helps us to recognize the enemy: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. And then again, every time I pull out another book to inspire me to write more, I have to ask myself if it’s just another form of procrastination : )
