I was reminded this morning that every experience of our past has made us into who we are today. The more we’ve been through, the larger our heart may grow. The more we’ve overcome, the more we understand, the more useful we become.
That has been my lifelong prayer: to be used in the service of others. God has answered that prayer in strange and mysterious ways, many of which I would not have chosen. But He did.
Now looking back I’m grateful. From where I stand today, it’s all been turned to Good though it wasn’t at the time.
If you stand today in the midst of dark times in your own life, know that you are being made useful! Opening your heart to that often moves you through the training period just a little faster : )
Today, let’s just be willing.
I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God. ~ Zechariah 13:9
Amen.
