This is a season of tears. A holy ache spills from the heart, escaping through the eyes.
A neighbor dies too young. Remembering, our hearts plead for those breathing through their grief. Let’s choose to reach out anyway.
A stray kitten arrives crying to be saved. The heart breaks over what it cannot keep. Let’s choose to help anyway.
A grandchild is born too soon. A miracle of life we’re not allowed to hold. The heart swells with nowhere to go. Let’s choose to hope anyway.
The past lingers. Reminds us of pain given and received. Let’s choose the freedom of forgiveness anyway.
The bud of a dream grows within, pressing to be born. The heart dances between joy and overwhelming fear. Let’s choose to bloom anyway.
Remember… We never cry alone. Take comfort in your tears for they are near to the heart of God.
Amen.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
~ Revelation 7:17 NIV
This is absolutely beautiful!! I want to paint on a canvas and hang in my house…I love that you are so candid with your words. Thanks for being a blessing and encouragement!
Thanks Bridget. We all walk through different seasons of difficulties and blessings that bring us to tears. But I’ve learned over the years that it takes more courage to cry than to not, and that the nearer we are to tears, whether from joy or sadness, the nearer we are to God’s heart.
Joanna, sweet sentiment combined with warm and powerful expression and an excellent choice of picture.
Thank you Terri. It always looked to me like tears dripping off the pine needles.
