I am in-between. So this weekend I read the book The In-Between. It gave me a sense of peace, knowing that when we’re stuck in one of those times of transition, between where we were and what we are becoming, God is there and up to something good.
Looking back, we see the storms of our mistakes. Before us lies the dream beginning to bloom. But the world has crept into our spirit and cries, It’s not enough! Hurry up! Get a job!
What if in the midst of these times of transition we just open fully to the moment? Give thanks for how far we’ve come. Notice what has flowered today. Cease stretching toward the horizon God holds safely in His hands.
Don’t miss today. There are important things – beautiful things – in the middle of these times of transition.
Remember… you are not there alone.
Amen.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. ~ Psalm 118:24

Joanna,
I find transitions hard when I don’t know what to start or where to go next. I go full out on a task or event and, when it’s done, I struggle to find my way to the next one.
I like your perspective because it’s the bigger picture which is always the better one.
Instead of looking at my master list, I should look at my Master, the one who holds not just my past and my future, but my present in the “hour” in-between what I am and what I’m yet to be.
Thanks!
Thanks for this Terri. I love what you said about keeping our eyes fixed on the Master, instead of our master list. Being an obsessive to-do list checker myself, this really strikes a cord. Thanks for sharing!
