
Here we are again, the time of year when we set high and lofty goals for the year ahead. After all, since the world didn’t come to an end AGAIN, we better wake up and do something to better ourselves, right?
Here’s a whole new type of New Year’ resolution, and 5 easy ways actually achieve it. Trust me, this is simple but BIG. I hope your feeling resolutionary : )
Whenever you find yourself having conversations in your head with anyone who isn’t there, STOP IT! It’s a ridiculous habit. If we continually mumbled aloud all the dialogue that runs between our ears, we’d quickly realize how crazy it was, but keeping it quietly to ourselves somehow makes us sane. Right?
News flash: If you’re talking to anyone but God in your head, you’re letting the enemy run away with your life!!!
Let’s change that. Begin by catching yourself in the act and replacing those conversations with:
- A prayer for someone else
- Envisioning your big dream
- Meditating on stillness
- Meditating on a favorite scripture (“Be still and know I am God.” ~ Psalm 46:10)
- A really wonderful memory
These are your simple stepping stones to positive change. This is how we begin to reflect who we were Created to be: a reflection of our Creator.
Will you commit for the next 30 days, to catching yourself in these exhausting conversations and replacing them with a new habit of dwelling on the good, exciting, joyful, uplifting, and kind things in life? What have you got to lose?
