We must be patient with ourselves. It takes time to bear fruit.
I’ve spent the past two weeks being sick – a consequence of going too far too long. I felt guilty the entire time. Not doing my work. Not helping anyone.
Then I remembered our young grapevine with its one tiny cluster of fruit. They weren’t much, and weren’t perfect, but they were beautiful to me; a gift in a process that takes years to complete.
So if you are frustrated today, remember this… Be patient. With yourself as with all things – whether grapes, or words, or anything worthwhile – it takes time to bear fruit. God isn’t finished with us yet.
Even the smallest of things produced along the way is still beautiful to Him.
Amen.
… I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit… ~ John 15:16
QUESTION: What have you been working on that you could just relax and enjoy the process if you simply trusted that it takes time to bear fruit?
