Have you ever had a thing – whether exciting adventure or a scary ordeal – you’d rather not be walking through alone? Wishing you had a hand to hold, certain it would be easier if you didn’t have to do it by yourself?
That’s how I feel this week about my new website – overjoyed and underwhelmed by all there is to do and learn. Simple things for techie folks seem Herculean to me.
So I’m locked in a room for three days, determined to focus and get it done. By myself. Alone. That was my mindset when I arrived. Until I realized I was wrong.
Looking back on all the BIG things I’ve faced, they are my greatest moments. Not because of what I accomplished, but because of Who I discovered was with me in the midst of them. Thinking I was leaping alone, I discovered I never was.
Why then is it we trust God to go with us on a move across the continent but we doubt He’ll show up to help rebuild a website? Walk us out of debt? Regain our health? Overcome greater things than these?
Truth is, He’s already wherever we are. Waiting. Willing. ABLE.
We just have to remember to ask. Then believe that we’ve been heard.
So let’s dive in. Face our fear. Take the next step.
It’s all more like an adventure when we remember we’re never alone.
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. ~ Isaiah 43:2
Amen.
QUESTION: What would you dare to do today if you realized you already have a hand to hold?
